Huangteng Su is a natural alkaloid extracted from the dried stems of *Fibraurea recisa* Pierre, a plant belonging to the Menispermaceae family. Its core component is palmatine, an isoquinoline compound. It possesses a wide range of pharmacological activities, including broad-spectrum antibacterial activity (inhibiting *Staphylococcus aureus*, *Escherichia coli*, *Candida albicans*, etc.), anti-inflammatory activity (reducing the release of pro-inflammatory factors by inhibiting the NF-κB inflammatory pathway), antiviral activity (effective against influenza viruses, herpes simplex viruses, etc.), antioxidant activity (scavenging free radicals and enhancing SOD activity), and immunomodulatory activity (enhancing the phagocytic function of leukocytes). Studies have shown that Huangteng Su also has anti-tumor potential, exerting its effects by inducing tumor cell apoptosis and inhibiting angiogenesis.
